LOFT Conversion

WHAT THE CLIENT SAID ABOUT US:

DURHAM

"For years we have talked about converting our loft and we’re so glad that when we did we chose Extra Space. Nik and Shane were very thorough in their approach, from our initial call discussing feasibility to their attention to detail in finishing the project.

We added a master suite inclusive of a bedroom, en suite and built in wardrobes. To do this we changed the roof from a hip to gable and added a large flat roof dormer to the rear. Extra Space’s design guidance and recommendations where invaluable, it became obvious to us that they drew on a wealth of experience both from a practical and regulatory point of view.

Extra Space took care of all aspects of the building work which was signed off by Building Control.

Given that this was such a big project (if only to us) the work progressed promptly with surprisingly little disruption. Just what you need when you’re a family of four already in need of additional space.

We couldn’t recommend Extra Space enough."

Adds Value

A loft conversion is an investment and adds value to your property. The Guardian states loft conversions actually increase your home’s value by at least 20%. Nationwide Building Society also confirms in the latest figures that adding an extra bedroom or bathroom increases your home’s value by up to one fifth.

Loft conversions are a great investment for those who are looking to expand their living space and also those who plan to sell further down the line.

Affordable

A loft conversion is usually cheaper per square metre than an extension. In the UK having a loft converted has become the most popular home renovation, as they are fairly straight forwards and easier due to building onto already existing framework. It is also less time consuming than a house extension!

No Loss Of Outside Space

Building upwards! One of the biggest advantages of loft conversions is the fact you don’t need to build outwards for extra space. Adding space upwards means you can avoid running into problems such as not having the room or planning permission required to build an extension onto your home. In area where overcrowding is a common problem, the most effective solution is to build upwards.
